Office for Environmental Protection applies to join Fish Legal case

26th September 2024

The Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) has applied to intervene in our Court of Appeal case with Pickering Fishery Association.

Only 14% of rivers in England were in good overall health. In 2023, with a group of anglers from North Yorkshire who fish the Costa Beck, we won a landmark case against the previous Government that exposed its defective river improvement plans.

The new Government and the Environment Agency want to defend them.

The case is due to be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on 14 and 15 January 2025.
